For Raina, a beekeeper, entrepreneur, and the founder of QueenBee, the mission ws simple: to save the bees. After visiting a bee farm in Northern Connecticut with family and friends, she was struck by a huge chord when she witnessed the beekeeper cleaning out his hive, which meant taking piles upon piles of dead bees that didn’t make it through the winter and disposing of them.
Raina deeply believed in the principle that every life, no matter how small, is valuable. This is what began her research to create a device that would save bees from widespread disease.
Through her research, she discovered that it was not pesticides that were the root cause of honeybee colony collapse disorder but rather rural mite infestations. From this discovery, birthed Hiveguard, a device that eliminates rural mite infestations from honey beehives.
QueenBee was created as a passion project of Raina to bring a product to the market that not only provides customers with the purest value honey can provide but does so while supporting sustainable and holistic honeybee production. HoneyBee donates portions of its profits to honeybee research facilities and to support local and global pollinators.
